I-Village is my hometown. It is the call of every post-modern village, calling for traditional rustic simplicity, calling for simple truths, and especially calling for the freedom of the land.

With writing that remains inextricably linked to agricultural society and observations that remain focused on human relations across generations, Lin Sheng-xiang sings about the true situation of every rural village. Lin Sheng-xiang sings with an even more tender attitude. At the recording sessions, Sheng-xiang’s six-string yu-qin, Ken Ohtake’s acoustic guitar, Toru Hayakawa’s bass, and Wu Zeng-jun’s percussion constructed vivid scenes of I-Village through joyful improvisational composition. As one splendid musical curtain after another is raised, we hear an even more gentle singing voice, an even more tight band, and an even more free creative vocabulary.
