Chi-Ling Liu¡¦s film score for ¡§The Love of Three Oranges¡¨ received the Golden Melody Award for ¡§Best Instrumental Popular Album¡¨, and some of his albums following that include ¡§666 Turns for the Strangers of the World¡¨ and ¡§The Wall-Passer¡¨, and his poetry collections include ¡§A Watch¡¦s Sound Travel¡¨ and ¡§4+1 Corners¡¨. He is also the recipient of the first prize for best emerging work from the Chicago FIPRESCI Prizes, and has been nominated for best emerging work by the Venice Film Festival, and Nantes, France¡¦s Festival of the Three Continents¡¦ Jacques Demy Award. Liu¡¦s music was used by German dance virtuoso, Pina Bausch, in her choreography, and his work was also selected to be included in an Asian Cinema album released in France.
Active in the fields of music, theater and art, Liu also participates in cinema, theater, dance, fashion, literature, and many genre-crossing collaborations, his musical style is full of rich humanity and emotions. Liu is also skillful in integrating theatrical and story narrations in his compositions to allow the music the ability to tell stories and to make the overall narration more complete. He has been named by the media as one of the top six musicians to look forward to. In the recent years, Liu has been focusing on integrating music, magic, and illusions, and is the first of such performer in Taiwan.

Jimmy graduated from the Chinese Culture University with a degree in art, and since 1998, he first published ¡§Secrets in the Woods¡¨ and ¡§A Fish with a Smile¡¨, and followed by ¡§A Chance of Sunshine¡¨, ¡§Moon Forgets¡¨, ¡§The Subway¡¨, and many other celebrated works. He has demonstrated amazing creativity and diversity with his narrative abilities, and has created a trend in the publishing market for illustration books that have even extended into other art and culture industries in the film, theater, and animation. There have been many academic and media analyses and discussions about the ¡§Jimmy Phenomenon¡¨. In 2003, he was selected as one of the top 55 most creative people in Asia by Studio Voice magazine. In 2007, he was selected by Discovery as one of the six representative Taiwanese for a profile the TV station produced for Taiwanese influential people. His works have been translated into many languages around the globe.
