Good Friends Contemporary Ensemble consists of Chang Yung-chih (piano), Yu Rui-ling (flute), and Tsai Yao-jen (cello), and together with the concept of ¡§music without boundaries,¡¨ they have developed a neo-music style that is organic and expressive. In 2004, the Good Friends Contemporary Ensemble released an album titled, ¡§Traveling in Dreams of Aegean Sea¡¨, and in 2005, it received the 16th Golden Melody Award¡¦s Best Instrumental Album in the Popular Music Category.
This album is about the mountains, forests and fields of Taiwan, and is a journey of music inspired by the heart and soul. The ensemble¡¦s original compositions or re-arrangements of well-known pieces are fusions of various music elements, including classical, popular, and new age. With its diverse presentations using installation, dance, theater, digital imaging, and poetry, a diverse stage for music takes shape.
