In So Many Words is essentially an autobiographical work, exploring many of the personal pains and passions that make up the artist Matthew Lien. The album carries the listener through the emotions, issues and memories that are at the heart of who he is. True to this concept, the album featured Matthew's vocals throughout, and musical styles that have influenced him throughout his life.
Matthew has become quite well-known for his instrumental albums which celebrate the environment and cultures, and often focus on issues of importance. While his work on these projects continues, In So Many Words represents a personal departure and a journey into the landscapes within the artist Matthew Lien.
