About Lin Hai 'A talented musician with an eastern right hand and a western left hand,' a critic described Lin Hai. The young piano genius had started his piano lesson since the age of 4, and left his hometown at nine for Beijing to study in music college. At 20, he became a final nominee for the famous Van Cliburn Piano Competition, surprising Chinese musical world as the first Chinese to have this distinctive honor. In 1995 Lin Hai published his first album Reminiscences of Beijing. In 1996 the second album Sun East, Moon West elevated him ever higher as 'an exclamation mark of Chinese Music World.' His style of composing does not stick to one origin, but freely plays among Classic, New Age, Modern, Jazz and so on, and generally presents a very precious literary, humane touch that really leads audience to his personal spiritual world. It is a tremendous pleasure to get into his world since there are witty simplicity, dazzling romance and spontaneous freedom.
