Master Hong-Yi (Li, Shu-Tong) was a legendary person of letters in the modern Chinese history (1880-1942). He led a vigorous life with versatile talent. In addition to his marvelous accomplishments in poetry, painting, music and theater, he even attained great fulfillment in studying Buddhism and turned to be the master of 'The Vinaya School' of Buddhism latter in his generation. Master Hong-Yi had great achievement in music composition, especially the lyrics. 'The Song Works of Master Hong-Yi' contains two volumes including 27 songs written by Master Hong-Yi. These two volumes are the most complete collection published in Taiwan at present. Under the vivid annotation by the euphonious chorus of the Beijing Philharmonic Girl's Chorus, listeners might perceive the artistic and Zen philosophy which are encompassed in the lyrics by Master Hong-Yi and have the gratification in heart from appreciation of art-like tasting sweet dew.
