'Tibetan Court Music' serves as an expression for the Tibetan people to pay their respects to Dalai Lama, high-ranked monks, and officers. Its performance consists of 'Garlu' (court songs) and 'Gar' (court dances). The melody of the 'Garlu' is smooth and harmonious, while the 'Gar', sonorous and elegant. This album as well includes some distinctive Tibetan instrumental solos, such as the Zanian (lute), and Biwang (a Tibetan term for all stringed instruments). All of them reveal an unique atmosphere which could only be found in the court of Tibet.
