Wang Xin-xin

Born in 1965, Fujian Province of China, Wang Xinxin began her Nanguan training at four by her father. In 1984 she entered the Nanguan Course of the Quanzhou branch of Fujian Provincial Art School by dint of having won top place in the entrance exams and won the award of "All China Gold and Silver Cup Tape Cassette" prize two years later. In 1988 she was the champion of "Nanguan Broadcast Contest: Professional Section", and also won the award of vocal performance in the contest of "Red Lantern Prize." In 1993 she immigrated to Taiwan and joined Han Tang Yuefu as music supervisor. During Wang Xinxin's world tour she had performed in Belgium, Holland, Israel, Thailand, Philippine, Korea, Spain, and also in the Avignon Art Festival in France. Besides her position of music supervisor, she had been the chief musician in Han Tang Yuefu. She had also been a part-time lecturer in Taiwan University and drama department of National Art University. Her recent plan is to publish CDs of all the famous Nanguan tunes she had sung, and "Three Hundred of the Tang Dynasty" performed in Nanguan style. No wonder international media praises her as the vocalist who possesses real eastern classic beauty.
