The Daniel Ho Trio

Daniel Ho, Randy Drake, and Steve Billman have been recording and performing together since the early 1990s. Their melodic intuitiveness and time-polished sensibilities allow them to bring out the best in one another’s sound.

Daniel first heard Randy play drums at a winery concert in Northern California in 1992, and knew right away based on Randy’s style and technique that he was a special drummer with whom he would like to work. Steve was an instructor and studio player at the Grove School of Music, where Daniel attended classes as an aspiring composer and arranger. Steve played bass on some of Daniel’s earliest student compositions in the mid-late 1980s. Both Randy and Steve worked with Daniel as members of the contemporary jazz band, Kilauea.

Keen on surrounding himself with consummate players that raise his standards for achieving musical mastery, Randy and Steve are role models to Daniel. He regards them in the highest esteem as friends and musicians.
